Over the years, I have developed a vast library of piano music and books about composers, music history, advice for parents with children taking music lessons, and other topics of interest which are available for families to borrow at any time. My only request is that you use borrowed materials as a starting point towards building your own library since photocopying violates copyright and deprives owners of their rightful income. Here are some of the books I have about piano lessons and piano care: Not Until You’ve Done Your Practice – Philip Johnston - 120 pages This very entertaining book is designed for young readers. It is full of helpful practice advice, designed to make practice effective and fun. Practiceopedia – Philip Johnston - 376 pages In this book, Johnston gives examples of problems typical students face and offers solutions to each. Very readable, very practical! The Practice Revolution - Philip Johnston - 320 pages This comprehensive manual tells teachers and parents what works, what doesn't, what really happens when students practice, and how to fix it. The Practice Revolution seeks to end forever the obsession with how much practice students do, and switches the focus to helping students get more done in less time. A Parent’s Guide to Piano Lessons – James W. Bastien - 71 pages One of America’s leading authorities on piano teaching answers your questions about music study for your child. This book also has a great section on music theory and musical terms which may be helpful for parents with little or no musical training. The Piano Owner’s Manual – Steven R. Snyder - 80 pages This book tells helps you care for your piano by offering suggestions on cleaning, tuning, minor repairs, and general ownership tips. It gets rather technical at times. Dear Doctor Piano – Ken Burton - 203 pages A Calgary piano technician answers every conceivable question you may have about buying a piano and subsequent care. Each question is accompanied by humorous illustrations. How to Buy a Good Used Piano - Willard M. Leverett - 68 pages With over 50 years of experience as a piano tuner-technician, Leverett offers advice to buyers seeking quality in used pianos or just wanting to learn some basic information about their own piano.
